Position Announcement University of North Texas College of Business Administration The University of North Texas invites applications and nominations for the following positions. Senior Associate Dean: The Senior Associate Dean oversees the day-to-day operations of the College; advises the Dean on budgetary matters, faculty workloads, faculty evaluation, and promotion and tenure issues; oversees the College's financial, facilities, and planning functions; and ensures compliance with assessment and accreditation needs. Duties also include limited teaching responsibilities. Qualifications include an earned doctorate in a business discipline; credentials that warrant appointment at the rank of Professor; previous academic administrative experience; and effective communication skills. Associate or Assistant Dean for Assessment and Academic Reporting: The Associate or Assistant Dean for Assessment and Academic Reporting ensures that learning outcomes assessment programs are functioning throughout the College as required by SACS and AACSB International and prepares academic reports as required by the University's Office of Institutional Research and Accreditation, SACS, AACSB International, and other relevant external constituents. The position includes limited teaching responsibilities, depending on discipline. Qualifications include an earned doctorate in a business discipline, education, or other relevant discipline; experience with the practice of learning outcomes assessment, academic reporting, and accreditation appropriate to rank; and effective communication skills. Director, Murphy Enterprise Center: The Director of the Murphy Enterprise Center develops programs to promote entrepreneurship in the College of Business and across the University of North Texas campus; develops programs to provide entrepreneurial assistance to businesses and the general public in the North Texas region; and administers the Center's annual Business Plan Competition. The position includes limited teaching responsibilities. Qualifications include an earned doctorate in a business discipline; experience working with small business, including developing business plans; and effective communication skills. Experience in grant writing, working with small business agencies, and teaching courses related to entrepreneurship is desirable. Chair, Department of Accounting: The Chair, Department of Accounting, is responsible for providing academic, administrative, and professional leadership for the department, including building on its reputation for teaching excellence, fostering a culture that values and supports scholarship and research, developing external relations, and fundraising. The position includes limited teaching responsibilities. Qualifications include an earned doctorate in Accounting; evidence of teaching, research, and service in the field appropriate to rank; effective communication skills; and demonstrated leadership experience. Credentials must warrant appointment as Professor or Associate Professor with tenure. Professional certification is desirable. The College: Both the College and the Department of Accounting are accredited by AACSB International. The College has nearly 6,000 enrolled students, of whom 700 are graduate students. The University: The State of Texas has classified the University of North Texas as an Emerging Research University. It is located in the vibrant and rapidly expanding Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area and situated in close proximity to DFW International Airport. University enrollment is over 34,000 with more than 6,500 graduate students. The University offers 257 undergraduate and graduate majors and concentrations.
