RETAILOBSERVER.COM OCTOBER 2015 28 WOLF APPLIANCE, INC. ENHANCES APPLIANCES TO INCLUDE WIDER RANGE OF BTUS Upgraded products offer absolute control from simmer to sear for delicious results What is a Btu? A Btu, also known as a British thermal unit, is the amount of energy needed to heat or cool one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit. The higher the Btu output, the more powerful the heating or cooling system. PRODUCT UPDATES Wolf dual fuel ranges, rangetops and gas cooktops have never been more powerful or offered a greater range of control. Wolf's original dual-stacked, sealed burner first launched featuring a maximum output of 15,000 Btu. "Dual-stacked" refers to the two independent tiers of flame ports on each burner, one above the other. The upper tier of flame ports produces high heat for restaurant quality sears and faster boils, while the lower tier provides control - down to a mere breath of flame—for simmering without boiling, and melting without scorching. Now, the most powerful burners on each appliance offer up to 33 percent more Btu output than before – with options of 18,000 and 20,000 maximum Btus – all while using the same high performance burner design. BENEFITS OF A WIDER BTU RANGE • Higher Highs—Wolf's new burner enhancements offer owners greater control over a wide range of heat output for flawless, restaurant-quality sears and up to 25 percent faster boil times. • Lower Lows—Low-heat finesse, not just high Btu-power, sets Wolf appliances apart from its rivals, protecting owners' investments in fine ingredients. The lower Btu output allows users to cook with a small, yet constant flame that doesn't interrupt cooking by cycling on and off, for gentle simmering of soups and sauces. • Performance—Owners can cook with confidence knowing each dish will turn out just as they intended. Sauce warms low-and-slow, rice simmers without burning, fresh vegetables sauté crisply and colorfully, and salmon sears on high—all at the same time.
