Position Announcement Dean, Campbell School of Business Start Date: 1 July 2007 Berry College invites applications and nominations for the posi- tion of Dean, Campbell School of Business. Recently accredited by AACSB and selected for inclusion in the 2008 edition of The Princeton Review's Best Business Schools, the Campbell School is committed to an outstanding undergraduate business program grounded in the liberal arts. In addition, the school emphasizes outreach in the region, including its MBA program, which sup- ports the undergraduate program and seeks to meet the needs of the region for an advanced business degree. The school offers majors in accounting, economics, finance, management, and mar- keting. Along with the deans of Academic Services, the Charter School of Education and Human Sciences, the Evans School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the School of Mathematical & Natural Sciences, and Student Work and Experiential Learning, the dean reports to the provost. A terminal degree is strongly preferred. Candidates should possess a record of outstanding teaching, scholarship, and administrative experience. The CSOB dean will work with the Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid to increase the number of business majors, with Advancement to raise funds, as appropriate, to support the work of the school, and with the campus commu- nity to build collaboration and mutual support. This is a tenure track nine-month appointment commencing in the Fall 2007. The primary job responsibilities are to: (a) teach undergraduate and graduate Marketing and related courses; (b) advise marketing students; (c) participate in service activities for the department, school, university, industry and community, and (d) conduct scholarly research resulting in publication in top ranked peer reviewed journals and research presentations. Basic Qualifications: All applicants must possess an earned doctoral degree in Marketing or a closely related field, commitment to scholarly research as evidenced by publication in top ranked scholarly journals, scholarly works in progress or research presentations, a minimum of five years of teaching experience at the university level which is documented by assessments of teaching performance effectiveness, and the ability to teach the following courses: Marketing Strategy at the graduate and undergraduate level; Doctoral Seminar in Marketing in one or more Thematic areas; Marketing Management at the graduate level; and offerings in specialized areas such as Channels, Electronic Commerce/Marketing, or Marketing Communications. Preferred Qualifications: Our primary preference will be for an Associate Professor with solid track record of publications in top ranked journals and is able to articulate a research agenda and plans for future publication and scholarship. Interest in grants and sponsored research is a plus. It is expected that the candidate will be able to effectively work with colleagues and doctoral students to enhance the research profile of the Department and School.
