DAMON STOUDAMIRE TALKS ABOUT HIS JOB WITH THE TIGERS
When learning how to play a position, what better an instructor than one who's played it himself – and played it quite well. For Memphis, that is assistant coach Damon Stoudamire, a former collegiate All-American and 13-year NBA star.
Stoudamire joined the Tigers staff aſter two years
as an assistant with the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies, where he was instrumental in the development of Mike Conley. In his final year in 2010-11, Stoudamire helped the Grizzlies on their magical ride to the NBA Western Division semifinals.
In only his first season with the Tigers, Stoudamire's stamp on the guards is evident. Aſter a season with a minus assist-turnover ratio in 2010-11, Stoudamire's tutelage has turned that to a plus this year. Stoudamire also helped Memphis win the 2011-12 C-USA regular season crown and earn an NCAA Tournament berth.
