Coliseum Civic Center The Coliseum Civic Center, an architectural masterpiece which once served as a vaudeville play house and silent screen movie theater still serves the community to commemorate our cultural heritage. Today, this 900-seat facility plays an important role in the community. The circa 1924 acoustically perfect building with its grand piano, state-of-the-art lighting, sound and attractive furnishings serves as home to the Corinth Symphony Orchestra and a multitude of local events including plays, musicals, gospel and bluegrass concerts, numerous school performances and meetings, dance recitals, pageants, community meetings and receptions. The Coliseum is managed by the Corinth Area Arts Council, Inc., a non-profit community service organization. Corinth Theatre-Arts For over 40 years, Corinth Theatre-Arts has created opportunities for local volunteers, artists, and aspiring performers to develop their talents while inspiring and entertaining others. CT-A offers a full season of productions for actors and audiences of all ages — balanced to include musicals, classic theatre, American traditional drama, and productions of Broadway hits. CT-A offers productions for students in area schools, many of which have no theatre program, and some have never seen a live theatrical performance. CT-A serves the Corinth-Alcorn community as well as surrounding counties in the tri-state area by providing costume rentals, as well as technical and artistic advice. In recent years, CT-A has supported the work of community colleges, schools, churches, and historical groups as well as that of individuals. CT-A hosts special events each year, including Summer Theatre Camp, the CT-A Magnolia Awards Ceremony, and A Visit with Santa Claus to name a few. Corinth Theatre-Arts is proud to offer entertainment options for adults and children in the Corinth and Alcorn County area. Corinth Library The Corinth Library was established in 1926.
