Some supermarkets also sell fruit and vegetables from small local farms. But most people think food from the garden is fresher and tastes better than food from a supermarket. Some lucky people have space to grow food in their own gardens. For example, they grow carrots, onions and cabbages. Many other people do not have space at home, but sometimes they work together to grow food in an allotment. It's easier than you think to grow vegetables. First you dig. Then you plant the seeds.
