The new assets emphasize White Owl Brand's heritage, innovation, flavor, and quality, according to Swedish Match North America, the brand's manufacturer. "This redesign will ensure White Owl retains its well- loved brand identity but also stands out from competitors," said Katherine Macomber, senior brand manager of White Owl Brands. White Owl Brands' upcoming packaging modifications will include eye catching, bold pouches that prominently feature a new White Owl logo. The revamped packaging will also highlight the product's "Slow Burn;" draw attention to each specific flavor variety; and call out the brand's competitive pricing. Retail customers and consumers can expect to see the redesigned White Owl packaging and POS in stores in January 2016. The website, www.whiteowlcigar.com, provides consumer and trade partners with an easy-to-navigate platform for all White Owl Brand products and highlights White Owl's latest limited time offers and features a calendar of upcoming sampling events. A heritage section on the website allows users to take a digital journey through time, following White Owl Brand's innovation pathway from the 1880's to present day. Toraño The Brick Adds Sizes, New 20-Count Format Value-priced Toraño The Brick has been extended with two new sizes: a 6 1/2 x 54 torpedo, and a 5 1/2 x 56 robusto, both with a suggested retail price of $3.99 per cigar. They join the previously available BFC (6 x 60) and Churchill (7 x 56), which both retail for $4.99 per cigar. All four sizes are now offered in new 20-count boxes, in addition to the previous 100-count box format. The blend of The Brick is based on a "proven Toraño family recipe" that debuted in 2014 as part of a relaunch of brand that included packaging updates, a complex blend of Honduran fillers and binder, and finished with a silky Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. The large ring collection starts with an earthy flavor and opens to notes of wood and sweetness , says General Cigar. Antillian Cigar Corporation, also known as Sosa Cigars, is reintroducing its Santa Julia cigar brand, the latest milestone in a year- long project celebrating the company's longevity and consistency making cigars. To date, its 50th anniversary celebration has included the launch of Macabi USA and Imperio Cubano Miami. Santa Julia is being made out of La Vega Cubana in Clearwater, Fla. The fillers are from the Dominican Republic and the village of Condega in the Estelí region of Nicaragua. The binder is Honduran, and the wrapper being used is an Ecuador Habano Oscuro. Santa Julia is limited to two sizes— Torpedo (6 1/2 x 52) and Toro (6 x 50). Total production will only reach 20,000 cigars. The first batch will be released in late January 2016, while the remainder of the production will be released throughout the upcoming year. The suggested retail price. for the Torpedo size will be $9.90 and the Toro will be $9.60. Santa Julia was the name of the Sosa family's tobacco farm in Taguasco, Cuba, purchased by Don Juan Sosa and his son Arturo in the 1920s to grow sun grown tobacco used as fillers and binders for cigars. The breathtaking farm encompassed over 900 acres of land, and employed mostly Sosa family members and some locals. The farm was eventually lost to the Castro regime. In October, Antillian brought back the Macabi brand, first started in 1995 in Miami by the Gonzalez family of the Flor de Gonzalez brand. Macabi USA is the "ultimate boutique cigar," craft- ed entirely by a single Level 9 Cuban cigar roller with 20 years of experience including 10 years at the H. Upmann factory in Havana. Production is limited to 25,000 cigars per year. All of the tobacco comes from the Oliva family of tobacco growers, utilizing a five-country blend. The fillers are from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Colombia; the binder is from Honduras; and the wrapper is an Ecuador Habano. There are five sizes, ranging from $7 to $8.50 each at retail, with the Royal Corona also available in a dual wrapper of Ecuador Habano and Ecuador Candela called the Peppermint Stick.
