March / April 2016 8 1. Where are you from and what brought you to KC? I was born and raised in Wichita Kansas 2. How long have you been married, kids or pets? Chester and I have been married for 11 years. We have two furry children named Racy and Buster. 3. What is your background or profession? I have been retired 2 years from the education field. I was a high school Business/ Computer teacher for 33 years. 4. When did you join PCA? I joined PCA in 2003. 5. What kind of Porsche do you have? I have a 1986 944 SP1 race car. My street car is a 2013 Cayenne S. We also have a 2014 Cayman S that we autocross at Parade. 6. What is your favorite thing about your car? My favorite thing about my race car is that I get to race wheel to wheel with my husband. I am still getting to know my Cayenne S, but my favorite thing so far is the heated steering wheel, heated seats, and the cool sound she makes when I fire her up! 7. What have you done to personalize it? My race car is personalized with dog paw decals on the roof and decals showing Racy running. Both decals represent our racing team name of "Racy Dog Racing." Racy has gone to the track with us since she was a puppy. She never misses a race. On my Cayenne S, I added small white decals of Racy running on the back side windows. 8. Favorite memory with car - or funny story? I was first introduced to Porsches in 2003 when I met my future husband who took me for a ride in his 1970 911 race car at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit. The first words out of my mouth at the end of the ride were "Looks like spectating just isn't going to cut it." One thing led to another and in a short two years, I earned my rookies license and ran my first club race in my 944 at Hallett finishing first in class and first overall in the Formula Libre Enduro.
