March / April 2016 4 W e certainly don't have any reason to complain about our winter so far this season, as there has not been enough snow to talk about. I am very grateful for that fact. We have been able to get our Porsches out routinely this winter due to the lack of snow, ice and chemicals on the streets and I am very happy for that fact so far. One of the big dates for me in the winter season is the Rolex 24 race at Daytona in late January every year. That is a sure sign that we have made it mostly through the winter and racing is back! Speaking of the Rolex 24, our club had a great time at a watch party for the last three hours of the 24 hour race. We held the event at Coaches Bar and Grill in Overland Park and we had 35 club members come out to enjoy the action. As usual, in this race the last hours are very exciting as the teams press hard against fatigue and wear on the cars. Fortunately, the 12 hour race at Sebring comes up in March, and then we know we are in full swing for the race season. You all may recall that last year at this time, I told you all that I wanted to find as many ways possible to get us all out in our cars and enjoying them. Our board is working hard right now on coming up with fun ways to use our cars and get reminded over and over how much fun they are to pilot. I know that we will meet that challenge and our cars will be on the streets or tracks as best and often as we can. We also had many good social events last year that we will build on this year and continue to get us all together to meet new friends, see new cars and live the Porsche Club life to the full extent. This club is filled with so many great people that you should get to know as many as you can. Also, there is always someone who can provide some much needed insight for some issue that you may have pop up on your car.
