Now, this year instead of me telling you why I think family travel is important, I went to my family to ask them what their favorite memory is from all of our adventures. Each answer surprised me. My oldest son, Christian, was quick to respond with memories of Cuba. He enjoyed the personal connections, meeting Cubans of all sizes and shapes every day. My second son, Joshua, took a completely different tack. His favorite was snorkeling, kayaking and wildlife viewing in the Galapagos. Kim, my wife, enjoyed Turkey the most. "It has everything: hikes, historical churches, Roman ruins, and swimming in the Mediterranean Sea. It's a walking history lesson." To this day she continues to study the transformation of Constantinople to Istanbul. The trip that stands out for me was a safari in Tanzania when my boys were 4 and 6. What stands out from this trip is how Christian really mastered reading. He started reading in the back of a Land Rover looking at Jane Goodall's children's books on our way back from wildlife viewing to our hotel. Yes, this sounds corny, but it's for real, just ask my wife! We hope that you'll have similar experiences in your travels. We have great adventures to offer you here at Thomson Family Adventures. Just call and speak to one of our Family Travel Advisors. Happy Travels! Jim Kackley, General Manager
