Generous supporters such as yourself are critical to the ability of the college and hospital to fulfill our mission of educating the doctors of the future, making high-quality health care accessible to patients throughout Illinois, and performing advanced research that will lead to new and better treatments. Thanks to you, Illinois Medicine exceeded our $250 million goal during the Brilliant Futures fundraising campaign that will conclude at the end of this calendar year. This is an extraordinary achievement, and it would not have been possible without you and every member of the Illinois Medicine community. Each donor's gift has an important impact, and you are enabling Illinois Medicine to meet the educational and medical needs of students and patients across the state. Although the college's campuses, the hospital's clinics and our supporters are spread throughout Illinois, we are unified in our commitment to this endeavor. Donor support is helping the college to revise the traditional medical school curriculum to meet the educational needs of 21st century students. Charitable giving is also essential to the hospital's ability to provide world-class health care to underserved patient populations that would otherwise not have access. You can see charitable giving at work every day in our clinics, on our inpatient units and out in the community, where our clinicians are involved in a wide variety of outreach efforts. We also hear the gratitude of patients and their families for our programs and the donations that support them. Many patients are well aware that it is the generosity of alumni and dedicated donors that underpins the care they receive.
