March / April 2016 15 Helmet: Again, SA2005 is currently being accepted but will phase out soon, so try to make sure you have an SA2010 dated or newer helmet. These can be gotten online, sometimes clubs have a limited number you can borrow/rent, etc. Roll Bars and Cages: Only required if you are running a convertible that does not have pop up roll protection from the factory or a factory style hoop. Most porsches will pass this test. Seat Belts: Check your factory seat belts to make sure there are no rips or tears and are in generally good condition: Structural Integrity: Is there anything hanging off your car that could fall off and become a hazard? Body panels are all in good shape and firmly attached, underbelly pans secured, etc. Doors: No "General Lee" welded shut doors. Doors must open from both the outside and inside handles. Windshields: Can't have any cracks or severe pitting that would hinder your line of sight. No fig newton banners….. Mirrors: Minimum requirement is usually one good usable mirror, but you should have both door mirrors and windshield rearview mirror for optimal vision. Bob Wayman and "The Pumpkin" look best in the rear view mirror, but make sure your focus is ahead and not behind. Gas Cap: Goes without saying, make sure that cap is secured until it clicks. With the cornering speeds and forces on a track, fuel will try to escape out the fuel door at a high velocity. We want to keep all flammable liquids inside their respective containers. Fluids: No dripping leaks of any type of fluid. Sure, everyone has a little oil smudge from an engine gasket, but make sure nothing is actively dripping or leaking. Fluid Levels: Make sure to check your fluid levels before going on track! Make sure everything is topped off properly. High Performance DE Check List
