With a No. 2 seed in the C-USA Tournament, Memphis blew past No. 7 seed Southern Miss, 4-0, before downing No. 3 seed and 47th-ranked Rice 4-1 on Fox Sports Network to reach the championship match. Memphis fell to top-seed and 23rd-ranked Tulsa in the championship, giving Memphis the program's first runner-up finish in the C-USA Championships.
