FORECAST 2016 / STORM & SECURITY PROTECTION 21 2015. Visitors traveled to Shanghai from 94 different countries. Almost all countries experienced a significant increase in visitors. The show's new Hosted Buyer program helped exhibitors find qualified buyers, accelerating the process of seizing new business opportunities. The program provided incentives that matched buyers primarily from North America, Australia, New Zealand and Belarus with exhibitors from China. In all, 486 exhibitors from 19 countries exhibited at R+T Asia 2016, a 12 percent increase over 2015. Many international companies came from Asia. The show also attracted companies from other continents, such as Europe. Exhibitor satisfaction with the quality of visitors was remarkably high, as the number of international decision-makers also increased over 2015. Focus On Hot Topics The theme at R+T Asia this year was "Better technologies, better life" as the show focused on smart home technology and future technological trends for the industry. The show's educational component, the International Window and Door Summit, featured global experts in two separate markets. For the sun protection industry, speakers discussed the theme of "Smart Home Brings the Future to Life," while experts in the door and gate industries focused on "Global Insights and Technologies." Both summits included national and international experts and professionals of the industry. For the first time the show featured a Smart 2020 pavilion that showcased a Smart Home of the future. Produced with the non-profit ZigBee Alliance, the pavilion featured new global IoT (Internet of Things) standards and the latest technologies and products in home automation. The show also featured its InnovAction campaign, a pre-show, on-site, and post-show program. InnovAction allowed exhibitors to promote their most innovative products online before the show (at www.rtasia.org) and helped visitors to find the newest and best products and technology before the fair and to arrange appointments with exhibitors in advance. InnovAction also gave the exhibitors an opportunity to promote their products in a special catalog on-site, and to showcase their products in a special InnovAction display. Extras InnovAction 2016 presented awards in these categories: the Most Designer Favored Award, the Best of Best InnovAction prize, the InnovAction Product of 2016, the Person of the Year, award for the Most Promising Product of 2016 and the Most Media Favored Brand 2016. In a parallel event at the Shanghai exhibition center, the Cadex International Architecture & Design Show attracted material suppliers, manufacturers, architects, designers, real estate professionals, building constructors, traders and end-users. This concurrent show helped to attract new, high-quality visitors, including architects, designers and software companies. The R+T team has already started preparation for the next edition of R+T Asia slated for March 21 to 23, 2017. R+T Asia 2017 will be held again at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre and is expected to cover five halls and more than 500,000 square feet.
