18 SMOKESHOP June 2016 Industry NEWS AmericanCigarAcc_SS Dec08 5/20/09 5:39 PM Page 1 Villiger Cigars North America Unveils New Headquarters with Celebration miami—Villiger North America celebrated their re-launch and the opening of their new Miami-area headquarters with a by-invita- tion-only red carpet event at its new location in Doral, Fla. The re-launch was hosted by Heinrich Villiger, chairman of the board of Villiger Sons Limited (Villiger Söhne AG), and recently-appoint- ed Villiger North America president Rene Castaneda as well as the entire new Villiger North American team. In attendance at the event were many cigar industry col- leagues including Guillermo Leon of La Aurora; Alejandro Martinez Cuenca of Joya de Nicaragua; Carlos Torano Sr.; Felix Mesa of Galan Cigars; Scott Chester of ACID Cigars; Albert Montserrat of Cigar Rings; Kris Kachaturian, for- merly of A.J. Fernandez Cigars; and Ferdinand Kurt of the Swiss Consulate. In addressing the attendees, Villiger retiterated his continued com- mitment to the North American mar- ket. Afterwards, Villiger was presented a certificate by Doral City Officials prior to the ceremonial ribbon cutting. Guests were presented with three cigars (Villiger 1888, and two private stock unbranded cigars by La Aurora and Joya de Nicaragua). The cocktail reception featured cocktails courtesy of Zafra Rum, Jack Daniel's, Jack Daniel's Single Barrel, Gentleman Jack, Jack Honey, Korbel Champagne, and Findlandia Vodka. "The launch event was a great success, and only a sneak preview of what's to come," said Castaneda. "I look forward to working alongside Mr. Villiger, c.e.o. Robert Suter, and manag- ing director Michael Blumendeller to expose the Villiger brand to the consumer.
