at the rear. Manfred asked
if I would like to go for a
ride and that ended up being
the highlight of our trip. Of
course, this was the new 930
Turbo and before the day was
over, I had to have one. He
said I had to order through
my local Porsche Dealer,
but I could buy a Porsche
Designed Watch (which I
did). When I returned home
to Honolulu, I went to the
dealer (the owner was a Real
Estate Client) and told him I
wanted to order a new 930
and take European Delivery.
Back then, communication
between dealers and
manufacturers is not like it
is today and the Dealer at
the time said he had heard
rumors of the model, but
nothing confirmed.
He eventually got the
confirmation and allowed
me to place my order. I took
European Delivery in May
of 1976 and Nan and I drove
all around Germany having
the time of our lives!

1966 Austin Healy, 1972
Jaguar XJ6, 1971 Mercedes
230SL, 1974 Pontiac 455
Super Duty and of course
my favorite, the 930 Turbo.
10. What was your nickname
in high school?
Friends just called me Stan

your next Porsche to be?
I'm very happy with my
Boxster S.
