July / August 2016 8 1. Where are you from and what brought you to KC? Originally, I'm from California. I joined the US Naval Submarine Service after two years of Junior College. After finishing my tour, I was discharged in Hawaii and decided to stay for the next 23 years selling Real Estate. Then, during the pipeline boom in Alaska, I moved to Anchorage to sell Hawaiian real estate to the folks making crazy money working on the pipeline. In 1985, I was offered a position in KC to manage a head hunting firm, specializing in Corporate Real Estate Professionals and bought the company in 1990. Since then, I diversified to commercial real estate development (self storage) and for the last 10 years, I have been a Residential & Commercial Real Estate Broker/Realtor in both MO & KS 2. How long have you been married, kids or pets? I met my wonderful wife, Nan, in Hawaii. We we married in December, 1972 (soon to be 44 years) and we have two great daughters, one lives in Maui and the other in Prague and we have 4 grandchildren. 3. What is your background or profession? My background/Profession has always been in Real Estate. 4. When did you join PCA? I joined PCA about 3 years ago. 5. What kind of Porsche do you have? I have a 2013 Boxster S 6. What is your favorite thing about your car? The color (Basalt Black), the way it handles, the way it looks and the way it sounds…oops, that's four favorites isn't it. 7. What have you done to personalize it? My license Plate..LYFISGD. 8. Favorite memory with car - or funny story? In 1975, my wife and I went to Germany and toured the Porsche Factory. It was just a stroke of luck, but we had the opportunity to meet Manfred Janke, then the head of Porsche Marketing. He had some time, so he showed us around the facility. He said they had a new 911 that would be available in the US market the following year. Better yet, he asked if we would like to see it. It was the most beautiful Porsche I had ever seen!
