RETAILOBSERVER.COM AUGUST 2016 72 K BIS, the National Kitchen and Bath Association's annual trade show, is an inspirational, interactive event that showcases the latest industry products, trends and technologies. And KBIS 2017 is primed to be even bigger and better than past years. 2017 marks a return to the East Coast for KBIS. The show will take place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando from January 10-12, 2017. The show has sold enough exhibition space that it is currently on track to exceed the 2016 show by more than 60,000 square feet, providing more for attendees to see than ever before. KBIS will once again co-locate with the NAHB International Builders' Show (IBS) for the fourth annual Design & Construction Week ® , giving you access to two shows in one. This event is one of the world's largest gatherings focused on the most up-to-date techniques, products and technologies available to design, build and remodel homes. KBIS will host more than 500 of the top brands in the kitchen and bath industry, including over 100 NEW companies, spanning across two halls. No other trade show offers such an interactive look at the leading brands, as well as the ability to compare products side-by-side and get answers straight from the manufacturers. Additionally, there will be a brand new Outdoor Products Area, which will allow attendees to explore the potential of this popular trend. You can fully experience all of the available products and concepts and leave with the knowledge that you will be able to show homeowners how to extend their living space and bring the entire kitchen experience outdoors. This new area is located adjacent to the International Builders' Show (IBS) outdoor area to create one comprehensive outdoor experience for attendees. NKBA and NAHB will also be adding an exciting new CEDIA (Consumer Electronics Design & Installation Association) Pavilion to Design & Construction Week! Whether you are looking to stay up to date on the latest kitchen and bath design trends or focus on business-related topics, the NKBA's learning program has you covered. NKBA's Voices from the Industry will present over 70 sessions and new for 2017 will be the addition of interactive sessions where the audience will participate in the completion of a project or task. The NKBA learning program at KBIS applies to all segments of the industry and is designed to foster professional growth. Most importantly, for NKBA certified members, many presentations count towards their CEUs. All sessions will be in South Hall and there are one, two or three day passes available KBIS also offers unlimited networking potential. With a variety of special events, parties, and receptions taking place outside of the exhibit hall, there are many opportunities to connect with fellow kitchen and bath industry professionals and forge new business relationships. The 2017 Design Competition Awards and Magic of Design Opening Party will be held at The World Showcase in Disney's Epcot and will be sure to rival any past event! A night filled with food, music, fireworks and fun will start the week off in style! Other successful programs and events that are returning to KBIS include 30 Under 30, Student Design Competition, Exhibitor CEU Program, and The Bash, which will be held at the newly-opened Mango's on Wednesday, January 11, 2017.
