Departure is dependent on numbers registered at each Park District. Every effort is made to leave for the trip from Park Place. Transportation may be in a Park District van/ bus or motor coach. Motor coach trips are noted in the brochure. If we have not met our registration minimum by the deadline date (if one is listed), then the trip will be canceled and a full refund will be issued. All payments are required in full at time of registration. Refunds are only given under the following conditions: •Trip is canceled by the Crystal Lake Park District •Person asking for a refund finds a replacement for the trip •Park District has a waiting list and is able to sell your ticket *If a trip is full at time of registration, do not be concerned to get on the waitlist. Some trips may be able to add another bus/van if enough people are on the waitlist. If we are unable to accommodate you, a full refund will be issued. Sterne's Woods and Wingate Prairie Wagon Ride Ages 55 & Up 1 Class Back by popular demand! Join us for a guided wagon ride tour of the Sterne's Woods Fen and the Wingate areas. Different from last year's wagon ride, CLPD Manager of Natural Resources, John Fiorina, will explore the Wingate area of this beautiful piece of property. Learn its rich history, restoration efforts and the flora and fauna of this spectacular land. Water bottle and snack provided on this 2-hour informative trip. This tour requires being able to step up into the wagon. Registration deadline is September 8th. Location: Sterne's Woods and Fen Jen Peterson Program Fee: $8 Resident Discount Fee: $7 131507-01 M Sep 12 10 am-12 pm CODE DAY DATE TIME Summertime on Bangs Lake, Wauconda Ages 55 & Up 1 Class Enjoy a late summer afternoon at Bangs Lake full of bocce ball, horseshoes, bags or shuffle board or stroll the nature trail along the banks. Included is an accessible fishing pier where pontoon boat rides will tour the lake. Visit senior friendly vendors, enjoy the entertainment with a picnic lunch of hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, friends and sunscreen. Registration closes Sept 4 (space permitting). Trip requires limited amount of walking. Location: Park Place Jen Peterson Program Fee: $8 Resident Discount Fee: $8 131510-01 W Sep 14 9:30 am-2:30 pm Shipshewana - Amish Tour - Flea Market Ages 18 & Up 1 Class Get ready for a fun-filled day in Shipshewana! Choose between the Amish Insight Tour/Flea Market Combo Day and Full Day at Shipshewana Auction and Flea Market. Option 1: Amish Insight Tour and Flea Market Combo Day Program Fee: $89 Resident Discount Fee: $84 Trip includes transportation by motor coach bus, step-on- guide, tours, lunch and gift bag with treats from our stops. Moderate to extensive walking. We will stop at the Amish Bakery for treats, a visit to the Floral Quilt Garden and the Amish Cheese Haus to watch award-winning cheese being made. Sampling allowed of 40 varieties of cheese. Next, lunch will feature true Amish cooking and a traditional Thresher's meal. Following lunch 2- 2 1/2 hours, we will explore the Midwest's Largest Flea Market. Option 2: Full Day at Shipshewana Auction and Flea Market Program Fee: $44 Resident Discount Fee: $39 Trip includes transportation by motor coach bus, flea market and auction. Lunch is on your own. Extensive Walking. The Full Day at Shipshewana Auction and Flea Market includes exploring the Midwest's Largest Flea Market, livestock auction and a miscellaneous antique auction. You will be able to enjoy home style cooking or lunch on your own at one of the several food courts located throughout the flea market. Registration deadline is September 10 (spaces permitting).
