· Remodeled restrooms at Lippold Park Family Golf Center, Rotary Building and Spoerl Park for handicap accessibility · Re-built two decayed chimneys on the Colonel Palmer House to prevent leaks and to restore historical architecture · Installed a handicap accessible ramp on the Colonel Palmer House · Replaced playground at West Beach for improved safety and handicap accessibility · Built new retaining wall at West Beach to filter water running off the street before entering Crystal Lake · Improved wetlands at Lippold Park to filter pollutants from water entering Crystal Lake · Color coated tennis and basketball courts at Woodland Estates, Veteran Acres, Brighton Oaks and Sterling Meadows Parks to improve playing surfaces · Treated invasive and nuisance vegetation in Crystal Lake and continued water quality and quantity monitoring · Repainted outdoor tennis courts, refurbished court ventilation, and repaired foundation breaches at the Racket Club · Remodel restrooms and aquarium display wall at the Nature Center for handicap accessibility · Renovate Main Beach Pavilion Room to provide air conditioning-includes windows, doors, ceiling, lighting and wall treatments · Pave new handicap parking spaces and entrances to soccer and softball fields at Lippold Park · Re-build remaining two decayed chimneys on the Colonel Palmer House to prevent leaks · Replace flooring and carpet at Nature Center, Grand Oaks Recreation Center, Woodscreek Activity Building, Park Place and Rotary Building · Replace roof at Spoerl Park and siding at Boncosky Softball Complex Clubhouse · Replace furnaces and air conditioners at Grand Oaks Recreation Center, Administrative Office, Spoerl Park and Colonel Palmer House The Racket Club has reduced electrical consumption/cost by over 40% due to the installation of an energy saving lighting system. Echo Products has implemented Lippold Park Sports Complex as the BETA (test) site for Robotic Mowers and Robotic Golf Ball Picking machines. These robotic machines, provided at no cost to the Park District, has reduced fuel emissions and fuel/labor fees while improving turf conditions. The Crystal Lake Park District offered over 1000 programs and processed 9100 registrations last fiscal year. Extended Time, the Park District before/after school program offered in partnership with District 47 is utilized by 500 students. 20,000 paid visitors enjoyed our beaches (does not include free special events, campers, boat rentals, fisherman, etc.) Lippold Park hosted 51 special events in 2015-2016 which consisted of youth baseball tournaments, adult softball tournaments, various 5K fundraisers, the RUNdevous, CL Park District Half Marathon, the MCYSA International Baseball tournament, a regional soccer tournament, the Bernotas 8 th Grade Field Days event and many others.
