Inhalation APRIL2016 26 Previewing the Inhalation & Respiratory Drug Delivery Congress 2016 Drug Delivery to the Lungs will hold its 27th Annual Conference, December 7-9, 2016 at the Edin- burgh International Conference Centre (EICC), Edinburgh, Scot- land, UK. Annual lecture, session topics and awards This year's annual DDL lecture will be presented by Dr. Stephen P. Newman, who will discuss the chal- lenge of delivering inhaled drugs to the lungs. The themes for the conference are: • Inhalers—Were they really meant for humans? • Beyond asthma and COPD • 60 years of the pMDI • Innovations in aerosol delivery A special session will feature the pop- ular Pat Burnell Award, which pro- vides an opportunity for a young re- searcher to present their work as a poster and on the podium. Awards will also be presented for the best aca- demic and best industrial posters. Posters, exhibition and social events The conference will include poster sessions, social events and many net- working opportunities. More than 60 exhibitors will have stands in the Lennox Suite.
