November / December 2016 61 L ast Saturday turned out to be PORSCHE DAY and my world was in perfect bal- ance. Weather was great, making it a beautiful day for driving the new 996TT to the club breakfast. It is always fun to see the parade of cars come rolling in. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know some other mem- bers better. The day got better as Sean and I were signed up to attend the club event at Mid- west Tinting in Lee's Summit. The drive gave us an opportunity to open it up a little more on the freeway and enjoy the ride. If you have never experienced the pull of a turbo, you need to put it on your list. Our drive ended by snaking around to Midwest Tinting. It is always a nice experience when you pull into a parking lot already growing with Porsches. The event was well organized and ready for us. With the size of the group that was expected, we were split up in to two groups. The plan was for some to eat first and oth- ers to attended the presentation first. We were selected to eat first and were not disap- pointed. Midwest Tinting had ordered Jack Stack BBQ for the club. A wide selection of meats, beans and dessert was spread out for our enjoyment. Bonus, we were also informed that for each presentation a mem- ber can volunteer to have half of their hood covered with Xpel! Could Midwest Tint- ing be any more gracious? I don't think so. Thanks Midwest! When it became our time to eat, Stan Thorne introduced Dustin, the owner of Midwest Tinting. Dustin was had just re- turned from an international tinting and clear bra competition. He and his team tied for second. It is amazing to think that an international ranked tinting expert is right here in Lees Summit. Dustin gave a fascinating presentation where he talked about his credentials, why they use Xpel, and everything that goes TECH EVENT KCRPCA TECH EVENT MIDWEST TINTING By Jeff Tudas Believe it or not, he used Crayola crayons to fill in some chips on the Arctic Silver 997 hood!
