Two major immediate needs that those funds support are clearing up the huge amount of garbage left behind by burned down homes and preparing the land for rain. "A high percentage of homeowners did not have insurance, because it's difficult for them to get in that area," Gafill explains. "Professional artist Melissa Lofton lost her home and studio in the fire, and there was a big outpouring of support for her. Carmel Bay Company donated sales from her art- work and took no commission." "Soberanes Bouquet" is a painting Bull created to raise funds for those suffering from the Soberanes Fire.
