Its white post-and-rail fences, green paddocks and picturesque mountainous background make it one of the more beautiful stud farms in the world to visit. In winter during the rainy season, if one stands at the stallion barn and looks up the mountains, you will be graced by the sight of a seasonal waterfall which cascades down between the cliffs above the vineyards and paddocks. Encompassing the grazing mares of Drakenstein, nestling below the sandstone cliffs, are the vineyards of Anthonij Rupert Wyne. Named after the brother of owner Jo- hann Rupert who passed away in 2001, An- thonij Rupert Wyne sell their wine produce under five brands, namely Anthonij Rupert, Cape of Good Hope, Terra del Capo, Protea and L'Ormarins. The Anthonij Rupert Blend 2009 and Anthonij Rupert Syrah 2009 were both awarded a rating of 92 points recent- ly by the prestigious Wine Spectator publi- cation. A stone's throw from the stud and vineyard offices is the Franschhoek Motor Museum: a remarkable and unique collec- tion of motor vehicles which sees car enthu- siasts travel from abroad to come and visit. Anthonij Rupert Wyne provide the LQP with the wines of the day, including the L'Orma- rins "Cap Classique" – South Africa's version of champagne, while the Franschhoek Mo- tor Museum teams up with further co-spon- sor BMW in adorning the infield at the event with both antique and modern automotive beauties. International luxury brand Cartier joined in the sponsorship of the event in 2016, and this year will be presenting various gifts to 10
