Since opening downtown in
The Square last March, Tony's
has quickly become one of the
hottest spots in town not only
for its great food, but also for
its ambiance. There's nothing
stuffy about this place.
"I have a saying: 'Privileged
to be here. Honored to serve
you. Let's become friends.' And
that's exactly what happened,"
says owner/operator Tony Ric-
ci, who opened the Lexington
counterpart to his Cincinnati lo-
cation last March.
As you walk through the mod-
ern wooden door to Tony's of
Lexington, you're immediately
struck by the lively atmosphere.
To the left of a large stair-
case leading to a second dining
room is a bustling, backlit bar
area featuring its own menu of
mouth-watering pub fare.
To the right is a well-lit din-
ing room with high-backed,
cushioned booths that are sur-
prisingly comfortable—one of
which is reportedly frequent-
ly occupied by local celebrity
Coach John Calipari.
Upbeat, modern music plays
throughout, and the ener-
gy of the space and its guests
flows seamlessly between the
two downstairs areas. Wheth-
