Staircase to the Moon is a natural phenomenon created by the full moon reflecting off the exposed mudflats at extremely low tide – creating a beautiful optical illusion of stairs reaching the moon. Where can I see it? The coastline of Onslow, Dampier, Point Samson, Hearson Cove, Cossack, Port Hedland and Broome. What dates? Between March and October 3 times a month. Times vary depending on where you are, check with your local visitor centre for up to date times. 2017 Broome Dates March April 13th 6.43pm 12th 6.37pm* 14th 7.22pm 13th 7.17pm* 15th 8.01pm 14th 7.59pm May June 11th 5.56pm* 10th 6.07pm* 12th 6.39pm* 11th 6.55pm* 13th 7.23pm 12th 7.44pm July August 10th 6.31pm* 8th 6.10pm* 11th 7.22pm* 9th 7.36pm* 12th 8.14pm 10th 8.03pm September October 7th 6.43pm* 6th 6.24pm* 8th 7.38pm* 7th 7.23pm* 9th 8.35pm 8th 8.23pm * Town Beach Night Market dates provided by the Broome Market Stallholders Association.
