Two Local Broadcaster s Honored by Nor thern California PGA B Y M I C H A E L C H AT F I E L D E very Saturday morning, two veteran radio guys, David Marzetti and Sam Salerno, take to the airwaves with the Shagbag Show, a live talk program originating from the Del Monte Golf Course Bar & Grill. "Even though it's broadcast from a golf course, Shagbag is more of a lifestyle show," Marzetti says. "We talk about ever ything: Peninsula charities, events…if someone has something to talk about like a new business or a food and wine event, we're happy to give them air time." Of course, golf is still high on the list. During the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Shagbag broadcasts from the Pebble Beach Pro Shop on Saturday morning. "We've made friends over the years with the regular guys like Andy Garcia and Chris O'Donnell," Marzetti says. "They and others stop by and speak with us on air." Marzetti and Salerno were the proud recipi- ents of 2016's Northern California PGA Sports Media Person of the Year Award. "That was a big honor," Marzetti says, "because it usually goes to big-market shows. It was a cool thing that they recognized our little corner of the world." The Shagbag Show airs Saturday mornings from 9-10am on KION 1460 AM and 101 FM and online at iHeartradio.com. More information is at www.shagbagshow.com.
