Homeowners came to Inspiration Interiors to rework their
minimalistic, triangular-shaped kitchen into a 21st century,
functional space. Set apart from the rest of the home, the new
kitchen cantilevers over a hill, filling window views with vines and
lush greenery. Removal of a diagonal wall allowed for a large
L-shaped island; a custom integrated table and clear glass bar-
height countertop supply everyday and entertainment seating.
The remodeled kitchen includes ample space for prep and
cooking, highlighted by multiple smaller European appliances.
The designer achieved a diverse balance of color and texture
with light-gray lacquer base cabinets and dark-gray glass wall
cabinets, stark white quartz countertops, and wood-grain-
patterned floor tile.

Rhonda Knoche's clients were ready to show their flair for life in
their new kitchen. The result is a statement-making combination
of textures and colors: sapele wood's large, distinct grain on
flat-panel cabinets, a red accent cabinet and recessed wall
niche, back-painted red glass backsplashes, black granite
countertops, and a black oven cabinet. Bold cabinet hardware
furthers the drama.
Functionally, Knoche improved views to the exterior by moving
the sink from a small corner window area to a new island. The
island's 4-foot interchangeable trough-style sink includes a
dropped wet prep area, raised prep area, cutting board, and
dish rack. The remainder of the island provides room for baking,
while cooking areas were transitioned to a single zone.
