with such panache. It's amazing, and we have to
step back and imagine what it was like to be in the
1920s, to be able to absorb stories using only the
limited media that they had. That communication
relationship seems too tenuous by today's stan-
dards, but that's all people had to go on, so they
embraced it. I guess their imaginations were put
more into play than ours are today."
