Hopefully, right now you are feeling energized, focused and optimistic for 2017. You attended your Retreat and you feel more prepared than ever before to achieve the goals you have set for your business. Momentum is in your favor and your business is moving full steam ahead. But maybe others of you are already facing some roadblocks. Maybe you are feeling discouraged because your year isn't off to a great start. You even attended your Planning Retreat, but the same obstacles keep creeping back into your life and your business causing self-doubt and frustration. The fact is, you are going to face challenges in your business and in your life. You might be facing those roadblocks now, six months from now, a year or a few years down the road… but they are going to come. You are going to hear "no." You are going to lose a client. You are going to try a new business strategy that might not work. Unfortunately, there is no amount of preparation, skill or luck that can keep that from happening. But the good news is you have total control over how you respond. As Charles Swindoll said, "Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it." So frankly, it's time we all stop letting challenges derail us. We can choose to change our mindset and look at obstacles as opportunities to grow. Sure, it may be hard at times. And it will take a lot of practice and intentionality to change your attitude, but let me assure you… it will be worth it. Take a step back. See the opportunity that surrounds every seemingly bad situation. Opportunities to learn… to do things differently next time… to become mentally stronger despite facing adversity. Honestly, if you aren't experiencing any objections; you aren't creating enough activity in your business. You need to try new things, put yourself out there, knock on doors, make the phone calls. If you aren't facing a challenge, are you really pushing yourself as hard as you could be toward your goals? The truth is, you most likely will have to go through many "failures" before you experience success. This issue of Connections highlights some of the best moments from the 2017 Planning Retreats and showcases how powerful and valuable they were for your fellow Owners and Sales Reps. These events have proven time and again to have a positive impact on attendees' sales directly related to strategies, feedback or ideas they learned at their Retreat. We hope that you were able to attend and it was the boost you needed to have your best year yet. We are looking forward to hearing about your successes when we see you again at Convention in July. But if you need encouragement… fresh ideas to help you battle the obstacles you are facing… then we will be ready at Convention to offer the support, education and resources you need to get back on track. In the meantime, reach out to your Strategic Advisor and tap into your Support Center Team. They may be able to offer that extra push you need to get moving back in the right direction. We are looking forward to seeing you again in July!
