Schenck Process launches "future lab" DA R M S TA D T, G e r m a n y — Schenck Process has launched what it calls its "future lab" to augment the company's traditional research and de- velopment. The lab's aim is to bring to- gether competencies from diverse areas of the business, with the ongoing task of thinking things further, in greater depth. The intention is to come up with creative ideas and then turn them into reality at a quicker pace than a typical re- search lab. The lab will rely on interac- tion with the company's customers because the goal isn't innovation in itself, the goal is innovation with a purpose. Andreas Evertz, president and chief executive officer, and Jan Krall, the head of the future lab, helped to cre- ate the project. Krall will report di- rectly to Evertz on the lab's progress. Schenck Process provides measurement and process technology for industrial weighing, feeding, conveying, screen- ing, air filtration, and automation. Netzsch acquires Ecutec Barcelona SL SELB, Germany — Netzsch's Grinding and Dispersing business unit has acquired Ecutec Barcelona SL, a production equipment and process solution supplier for the dry processing of minerals. Ecutec, founded in Ger- many and now headquartered in Barce- lona, Spain, specializes in ultrafine grinding and classification as well as special surface coatings of such prod- ucts. With the acquisition of Ecutec, Netzsch plans to intensify and expand its activities in the minerals sector. Netzsch's Grinding and Dispersing business unit supplies dry and wet pro- cessing equipment ranging from labo- ratory to production-sized machines to complete plants. Bühler networking days to take place at Interpack 2017 in Germany UZWIL, Switzerland — Bühler will hold Bühler Networking Days 2017 during the Interpack 2017 trade show, which will be held 4-10 May in Düsseldorf, Germany. Bühler will pres- 26 years' experience in the air pollution control industry and holds a diploma in mechanical engineering. GEA awarded large-scale contract for nutritional powders plant in New Zealand DÜSSELDORF, Germany — GEA Group has been awarded a contract to build a nutritional powders plant for Mataura Valley Milk Ltd. (Mataura). The plant will be located in McNab on the south island of New Zealand and will process fresh milk ingredients into add- ed-value nutritional powders as well as standard skim milk and whole milk powders. The plant is planned to be op- erational for the 2018 season and will produce around 140 metric tons of nu- tritional powder daily. Mataura is major- i t y - o w n e d b y C h i n e s e A n i m a l Husbandry Group, and the plant will export roughly half of the produced nu- tritional powder to China. GEA Group plans, constructs, and delivers complete systems and components for production, process cooling, drying, filling, and packaging of dairy products. Metso announces new Italian distributor model HELSINKI, Finland — Metso Corp. has decided to change its distri- bution model for Italy. Starting 1 Janu- ary 2017, the company will have three exclusive distributors covering the en- tire country. Righini SRL and Franto- parts FP SRL will handle exclusive distribution of all Metso stationary crushing and screening machines. Righini will cover the provinces of Valle d'Aosta, Piemonte, and Liguria, and Frantoparts will cover the remain- ing provinces. Scai SpA will be the ex- c l u s i v e d i s t r i b u t o r f o r m o b i l e equipment for all of Italy. The three distributors have been long-time Metso partners. Metso is an industrial com- pany with products ranging from min- i n g a n d a g g r e g a t e p r o c e s s i n g equipment and systems to industrial valves and controls.
