VICE DEAN (ACADEMIC) The University of Windsor is accepting applications for the position of Vice Dean, Academic, Odette School of Business, effective August 1, 2012, for a term of up to five years as per Senate Bylaw 8. This position is subject to final budgetary approval. This senior management position is responsible for the leadership and ongoing operations of all School academic activities – not including pro- gram and staff administration. This position will be accountable for the regularization and oversight of processes to assist in faculty member devel- opment and evaluation and in the abilities of Areas to develop and carry out their strategies. He or she will also play a leading role in overall faculty processes such as strategic planning. A well-respected member of the business school academic community with a strong and recent research record, and the ability to work well with Area Chairs and individual faculty in developing effective strategies for the School's academic disciplines and individual faculty members within those is needed. Having a record of involvement with AACSB accreditation will be a plus as Odette's accreditation will fall within his or her portfolio of responsibilities. Odette School's strategic emphasis on being close to, and relevant to, the professions involved in the practice of busi- ness requires the candidate to have demonstrated an affinity for interacting with business leaders and practitioner business issues. Appointable at the Associate Professor or Professor level—if not the latter the expectation is that eligibility for promotion to Professor will happen within a few years. While Vice Dean, some support will be provided to keep their scholarship programs active and they will be expected to do so notwithstanding this will likely be at a less intense level than if they were not Vice Dean.
