for Banana Bumble, the Plough's
own take on banoffee pie, which
is the firm favourite of train-
er Charlie Appleby and his wife
Aisling.
To call The Old Plough a pub is
to do it a disservice, really. Yes, it
serves ale and its exterior would
be a perfect backdrop for an epi-
sode of Midsomer Murders, but it
is much, much more than a mere
country boozer. And after a day
pounding up and down the hills
of Tattersalls' Park Paddocks in
search of your next champion
of the turf, you may well have
worked up a decent enough ap-
petite to do the excellent menu
justice.
