Since inheriting a roster with only four scholarship golfers in August of 2008, Beth Harrelson has guided the Lady Tigers to new heights in her short tenure. Under Harrelson, Memphis has 29 top-10 finishes and 16 top-five showings, including seven team titles and three- straight, fourth-place performances at the last three Conference USA Championships (2010- 12). Harrelson also has had seven individual medalists, the most under one coach since former mentor Debby King had 10. Harrelson's program has been just as impressive in the classroom. Her 2009-10 team posted a 3.76 spring semester grade-point average, the highest in Memphis athletics history. The past three years (2010-12), Harrelson's teams have received NCAA Public Recognition and Conference USA Sport Academic awards. The NCAA honor comes from being among the top-10 percent of women's golf for the multi-year APR, and the C-USA award is given to the institution with the highest GPA among all the league's women's golf programs.
