FARM 406 16 • • new machinery QUIETER DRYER GSI (Grain Systems, Inc.) recently introduced its latest solution to noise pollution during harvest season, the new Quiet Dryer, a grain conditioning system that produces 50% fewer decibels than comparable vane axial portable dryers. The patent-pending all-heat GSI Quiet Dryer uses a commercial strength quiet blower with fewer blades that are less flexible and longer. The longer length helps the fans run more slowly while producing the same high-quality drying capabilities. They also have a less open design and heavier duty construction offering reduced noise and a softer, more pleasing sound. It is also more energy-efficient than cen - trifugal fans, which require twice as much horsepower to deliver the same amount of air. The Quiet Dryer comes in 12-foot through 26-foot single-heater, sin- gle-module versions. Drying capacities range from 500 to 1,150 bushels per hour at 5-point removal. Expansion can support additional dryer modules, increasing capacity to 4,000 bushels per hour at 5-point removal.
