Class will end with a Halloween themed craft to take home. LOCATION: PVCC-Activity Room MIN/MAX: 5/15 FEE: R $12/NR $16 Haunted Bridges Engineering Creeptastic Version KH September 18 Ages 6-12 This exciting Halloween themed workshop is designed to add meaning to structures that children see in their everyday environment. Children will be introduced to the history, function, design, and geometry of bridges and tunnels using highly motivating hands on engineering activities. K'NEX parts, building straws, Hershey chocolate and more will be used to enrich student's understanding of bridges and tunnels. Beam, arch, truss, suspension and drawbridges will be investigated. What's an Earthquake Shake Table? Learn about The Tianjin Eye, an amusement park ride, over the Yongle Bridge in China. In the spirit of Halloween, kids will also learn about America's creepiest crossings. Class will culminate with kids making their own haunted edible bridge that only a monster would be willing to cross! Souvenir included. Try out things like bleeding blisters, bad bruises, wicked wounds, and more secrets from the movies will be explored. Find out how your favorite Sci-Fi or scary fi lms use makeup to horrify viewers. Imagine yourself on a movie set in Hollywood! We will also discover what happens to your skin in real life when a frightening accident occurs. Hands on experiences make this class amazingly disgusting and hilarious! LOCATION: PVCC-Activity Room MIN/MAX: 5/10 FEE: R $40/NR $50 CODE DAY DATE TIME 421121-01 Sa 10/28 11:00 am-12:30 pm Paint your own Halloween Wine Glass KH October 5 Ages 21 and up In this class you will create your very scary Halloween wine glass using special glass paint! You'll receive step-by-step instructions from our artist to make this fun and easy. No experience is necessary and yes you CAN do this! Explore your creative side with a friend or come along and make a new one. Fee includes everything you need to make one glass. Baking instructions to make your glass permanent will be handed out at end of class. This trip will include frightfully fun activities for the entire family. Ghosts and goblins of all ages are sure to have a howlin' good time! The fee includes transportation, parking and general admission ticket.
