On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel for a welcome briefing from your Tour Director. Overnight Stay: Safari Park Hotel. Day 2: Nairobi to Amboseli (FB,L,D) Drive south to Amboseli National Park and check into your lodge spectacularly located in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain. After lunch at the lodge enjoy a game drive through the open savanna which is home to large herds of elephant and buffalo, whilst the swamp areas are populated by hippo pods. Dinner tonight is on the deck of the lodge. Two Night Stay: Amboseli Serena Lodge. Day 3: Amboseli (FB,L,D) Morning and evening game drives in this remarkable reserve known as a photographers paradise with the most popular displays of wildlife including lion, elephant, leopard, cheetah, buffalo and a host of antelope and bird species including 47 different varieties of raptor. You're Invited: Visit a traditional Maasai village and be welcomed by the village chief to experience a culture famous for its close relationship with wildlife and the earth. Enjoy lunch and bush BBQ dinner with sunset views across the savanna plains. Day 4: Amboseli to Lake Naivasha (FB,L,D) Relax and enjoy breakfast at the lodge, then travel north stopping for lunch in Nairobi, before heading along Kenya's great escarpment to Lake Naivasha and the Great Rift Valley. Supplied by fresh water from the escarpment, the lake is 146 square kilometres and home to a large variety of life including a sizeable population of hippo. Your lodge tonight is set in one hundred and fifty acres of grassland studded with Acacia bushes and trees, with resident giraffe, hippo, waterbuck and both Vervet and Colobus monkey. Two Night Stay: Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge. Day 5: Lakes Area (FB,L,D) Depart the lodge after breakfast for a game drive at Lake Nakuru, whose ecosystem comprises of the lake surrounded by wooded and bushy grasslands. The park supports a wide diversity of species with flamingos being the main attractions of the area. The surrounding basin supports white rhino and buffalo and over 450 species of terrestrial birds. The area is the centre of a conservation project to maintain Kenya's natural habitats and encourage people to respect the wildlife. Lunch is included at the Lion Hill Lodge located on the rim of the lake. Day 6: Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara (FB,L,D) After breakfast, visit Crescent Island, a wildlife sanctuary on the eastern shore of Lake Naivasha and enjoy a walk in a tranquil environment. Travel south towards Tanzania into the Masai Mara National Reserve which covers some 1500 square kilometres adjoining the Serengeti National Park across the border. The park has a very high density of lion, leopard and cheetah and is one of the best places in Africa to see these big cats all year round. During the months of July to October, millions of wildebeest, impala and zebra cross the border into the Masai Mara in search of water, in what is known as the Great Migration. Enjoy a buffet dinner at your lodge situated in the heart of the national park. Three Night Stay: Keekorok Lodge. Day 7-8: Masai Mara National Reserve (FB,L,D) Enjoy morning and evening extended game drives through the Masai Mara which is situated in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grasslands, home to large herds of zebra, impala, antelope and gazelle. Giraffe search for lush foliage and hippos populate the streams and waterholes, all looked on by lion, cheetah, leopard and hyena. The lodge hosts an outdoor 'boma' dinner where you can taste African specialties and experience the night sounds of the wild. Day 9: Masai Mara to Nairobi (FB,L,HD) This morning, a final chance to take a game drive or simply enjoy a relaxing morning and lunch at the lodge. Later travel back to Nairobi where you are treated to a final night African feast at Nyama Choma Ranch including a performance with local dancers. Overnight Stay: Safari Park Hotel. Day 10: Nairobi (FB) This morning bid farewell to your fellow travellers and transfer to your onward flight home.
