RETAILOBSERVER.COM SEPTEMBER 2017 58 B U Y I N G G R O U P N E W S RO A t the recent buying group show in Nashville, M EGA Group introduced more than a dozen new furniture and bedding vendors to its members. Each new vendor exhibited at the two-day Fall Show, showcasing their offerings and pricing to the more than 350 in attendance. Here's a brief recap of a few of these new partners. • Wesley Allen MEGA is excited to partner with Wesley Allen, the largest domestic manufacturer of accent metal furniture including beds and bar- stools. The designer iron furniture adds an eclectic element to retailers' showrooms, and with more than 30 finishes and extensive leather and fabric selections, customers can make it their own. • Simply Amish The handcrafted, hand-finished pieces produced by Simply Amish are beautiful works of art. From dining tables to bedroom suites, these custom-built pieces are made from slow-growth hardwoods and come in a variety of colors and finishes. The live edge pieces created by these artisans are all unique and rugged, showcasing the beauty and richness of the tree from which it was made. • Steve Silver Co. Steve Silver Co. is the low-cost leader in casual dining and occasional furniture and excels in creating high quality pieces at affordable price points. Members are excited to add this line to their floors because of the variety of styles available. They've also added seating, motion, and a wide mix of leather and fabric upholstery to their line-up. • Restonic The Restonic name is not new to anyone, but until this fall, the buying group has not had a formal program in place for its retailers. There is a lot of excitement from members who are eager to place lines like the ComfortCare ® Hybrid Signature on their floors. • Dr. Greene's Ideal Mattress Anyone who sells bedding today recognizes the disruption caused by the bed-in-a-box players, but many traditional brick- and-mortar retailers have been cautious of offering a box option. Today, MEGA retailers who want to reach the mostly-millennial shopper can with the Dr. Greene's Ideal Mattress (exclusive for MEGA members). Formulated by orthopedic surgeon, Craig C. Greene, M.D., his college friend and retail mattress chain owner Ty Hingle, and Ty's business partner, Lee Burns, this mattress doesn't sacrifice great sleep for convenience and affordability. While others are still sold predominately online, Dr. Greene's Ideal Mattress allows retailers to sell online and in-store, allowing customers to choose the experience they are most comfortable with. MEGA Group has an extensive offering for furniture and mattress retailers featuring programs with more than 95 manufacturers.
