Low and Vineyard Director Bob Gibson, operates as
a symbiotic unit.
"Here, it is really a team endeavor . . . run by
stewards of the estate," continues Low. "[We are]
kind to the property, as well as ourselves, and have
fun while doing it."
With California's climate being relatively temper-
ate and consistent in terms of ripening fruit, Low
notes "it is the subtleties that make the wine. These
come from the soil and from the minute elements in
the soil."
Low sees biodynamic viticulture as a way to en-
courage these differences and subtleties into the fruit.
"I can see that the quality of wines is evolving and
growing," he muses. "It is a long-term vision, and it
inches its way slowly through each vintage, but it is a
journey worth making."
