Jon sings praises of other Glasgow area businesses who have assisted the Johnstons. "e hardware stores, lumber yard and other businesses have set up charge accounts for us and have given us discounts. ey couldn't have been more gracious in wanting the construction and business to go well. ey continue to work with us where they can." To keep the smaller communities in Montana vibrant, Jon speaks of encouraging entrepreneurship. "We need to encourage young people to stay in their communities and to takeup needed businesses. Local governments should set up one-stop shops for regulations, and they need to make starting a business easier by encouraging mentors in the area to get involved." "Entrepreneurs who have a dream should put away the fears and be willing to get uncomfortable. is is where you will be forced to learn what it takes to make it through a project such as this one. Never give up!" he added. Jon and Rebekka Johnston, along with other family members, have taken the risk of buying a century-old building in a small town on the Montana Hi-Line and making it into a first-class hotel. ey are working toward the hotel being known as 'not your typical place' off the beaten path but where you will find a lile of yourself, hence the slogan, 'find yourself, off the beaten path'.
