RETAILOBSERVER.COM NOVEMBER 2017 46 A s we move into fall, we move closer towards wrapping up an extremely successful year for TRIB Group. Our membership roster has seen steady increases and we are pleased to welcome close to a dozen new or returning members to our group. We also celebrate the completion of two very successful buying/networking events this year. The Orlando convention, our last in Florida for a while, was marked by another successful Hot Show auction. The off-site welcome celebration at WhirlyDome gave both vendors and members the opportunity to socialize and/or compete on the WhirlyDome courts. Our challenge next year is to find opportunities in Nashville that will work equally well, and we already have some excellent possibilities! We were also pleased to be asked by APRO to help administer a TRIB-style Hot Show at their convention in Galveston, Texas. Imagery Marketing hosted our Marketing Think Tank in St. Louis and feedback from our members regarding the content presented was extremely favorable. Our last and final event, Meeting of the Minds, was held in Las Vegas this past August. The planning committee did an outstanding job of putting forth a throrough and exciting agenda. The Hot Show did extremely well, thanks to the hard work of the product committee chairs that worked hard to bring everyone great values for the event. As we look forward to next year, there are a few notable changes in our event schedule for 2018. We are pleased to announce our participation in RTO World 18, a convention hosted jointly by TRIB Group and APRO. This was the result of many months of discussions and meetings, with the primary objective of allowing both members and vendors to be benefactors of both groups' best efforts and practices. Member meetings, seminars, vendor expo, Hot Shows and networking events will be a part of RTO World 18. The leadership of both groups are very excited to bring our industry this new and unique venture. The event will take place August 21-23 in St. Louis. Last, I want to mention our annual TRIB Trip. The purpose of this trip is to offer our members and sponsoring vendors the opportunity to network in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. We choose locations that are small, upscale resorts such as Ramon's Village, Ambergris Caye, Belize. The dates are Sunday May 6-10, 2018. We look forward to seeing you at this and our other great events throughout the year.
