At some vacation spots, you can swim with the
Dolphins. In Barbados, you can swim with the Bar-
bados Gold Cup winner. Every Thursday and Sun-
day morning, the beach just outside the Radisson
Hotel, which is across the street from the race
course, is open to equine visitors. Dozens of hors-
es from the Garrison Savannah stable area are
brought by their grooms or trainers to go for a
swim. Some may just wallow in the water, which
the local horsemen call a "soak." But others, their
handlers swimming along side, will venture well
out into the Caribbean Sea before heading back to
shore refreshed. Get there early as the peak time
to catch horses in the water is about 7 a.m.
