Morton Grove Park District | 6834 Dempster Street | 847.965.1200 | mortongroveparks.com 4 Our Mission The Morton Grove Park District is committed to enrich the quality of community life and promote recreational activities through creative programming for people of all ages and abilities, while protecting open space and natural resources for future generations. A fi ve-member Board of Commissioners governs the Morton Grove Park District. The Board serves without compensation for a six-year term and is directly responsible to the electorate. Professional staff, led by the Executive Director, handles day-to-day operations. The Morton Grove Board of Park Commissioners welcomes citizens at all their meetings. All meetings are held at the Prairie View Community Center, 6834 Dempster St. Individuals needing special assistance should call one (1) week in advance (847) 965-1200 so that arrangements can be made. Before we know it, the snow will be hitting the ground and the holidays will be upon us. Spring will be just around the corner. I hope you and your family had a chance to attend and enjoy one of our fall activities. We strive always to offer something fun for all our residents. To this end, we present to you our new brochure of events and exciting programs that the staff has worked hard to put together for you. I hope that you and your family will have a chance to enjoy all that we have to offer. Thank you to our dedicated staff for their continued teamwork and our Executive Director, Jeff Wait, for his exceptional leadership in helping to keep our parks running effectively and effi ciently. We offer our best wishes to our Finance Coordinator, Margarita Algarin, on her retirement. We thank her for her many years of dedicated service. In September, we hosted a Community Input Meeting to discuss the renovations at Pioneer Park. We had many residents who provided us with some great feedback. We encourage you to continue reaching out to us with all your comments, concerns, and ideas for all our parks and programs. We plan to begin construction this April. The fi nal version of the renovation is posted online at mortongroveparks.com. As we look ahead to 2018, we have many improvements planned. Therefore, the Park Board welcomes your attendance and feedback at all of our board meetings which are held on the fi rst and third Wednesday each month at 6:30 pm at the Prairie View Community Center.
