ccording to national research firm CEB Iconoculture, three out of four
affluent people define luxury differently than they did even just five years ago.
One emerging new appliance brand has taken that change in perception
to heart.
"The affluent consumer is now more driven by functionality and self-fulfillment,
and they're far more tech-oriented than previous generations. We've built a new
luxury brand of kitchen appliances dedicated to these affluent homeowners who
look at precision in food prep as mandatory," said Zach Elkin, general manager
of Signature Kitchen Suite, the emergent luxury appliance brand backed by LG
Electronics. "We refer to this substantial consumer group as 'Technicureans' —
they're looking for an authentic experience and take pride in their performance in
the kitchen."
They believe that good food has a journey to the plate and the final steps
should be taken seriously. That is why Signature Kitchen Suite expects to draw
consider able attention at this year's KBIS show in Orlando.
Signature Kitchen Suite is introducing more than a dozen new products for
2018, every one designed and built to meet higher consumer expectations.
"We started with a completely clean slate and filled it in with the most
innova tive products and most complete service offering in the business," said
Elkin. "We stepped up in a major way. LG said 'Let's do everything better,' and
nothing was spared. We took careful note of a cook's actual needs and put LG's
engineering leadership to work to create leading-edge technologies to fulfill those
needs," said Elkin.
