"I wanted certain foods, but I didn't want to have to drive for miles to other towns to get it," the Pennsylvania native says. In addition to a satisfying selection of fresh produce, the Mountain Sometimes all you need to renew your sense of belonging is a savory meal in the company of good friends. At the Outpost Deli, Jeannie Burk has been building lifelong relationships over heaping plates of down-home cooking for nearly 28 years. "A lot of people come for breakfast," Jeannie says. "I spoil all my customers and give them about anything they want if I've got it!" Farm-Fresh Market CHOTEAU, MONTANA The Mountain Front Market, 501 Main Avenue North Front Market also carries bulk spices, coffee and nuts, as well as locally produced honey, meats and eggs. "I am a miniature natural foods store," Jill laughs. The market boasts a variety of high-quality, Montana-made health and beauty items, a small vitamin supplement section, and even caters to customers who are looking for something special. "I always say that I'll give it a try!" Jill says. The Mountain Front Market is open Monday through Saturday from 11am until 6pm. www.mountainfrontmarket.com A Timeless Cuisine Outpost Deli, 102 North Main Avenue The deli's sense of community is palpable, and new customers aren't strangers for long. "We even have one big table where people come in just to sit and visit as a community, Jeannie says. "It's kind of a home-away-from-home for some people." Whether you're in the mood for soup, burgers, salads or one of Jeannie's trademark sandwiches, The Outpost Deli has something to satisfy everyone in the family. And we dare you to try to pass on dessert. "We have lots of pies, and the chocolate chip cookies are homemade!" Jeannie quips.
