32 | SignatureMT e original store, located on Last Chance Gulch, carried buon-down shirts, khaki pants, dress lines, and suits. "Very Katharine Hepburn, like my grandmother," says Liska. Aer 17 years on the Gulch and another 13 years located in Helena's Great Northern Town Center, Cobblestone Clothing Co. recently celebrated its 30 th year in business by moving back down to Last Chance Gulch. Over the years, as locations have changed, so has fashion. "Now we're definitely more casual. We carry a lot more jeans, sweaters, jean jackets, outerwear, and activewear. When I go to market, I look for price points that everyone can afford to buy. Our clientele ranges in age from 20 to 90!" Liska goes to market in Las Vegas twice a year with additional trips to view certain lines not represented at market. How does she choose product for her store? "I look for something I like. It must catch my eye. Market can be overwhelming because you're considering 'Will this sell?' at's probably my biggest challenge: the constant question of 'Do I have what customers want?'" e aention shoppers receive at Cobblestone makes it a destination for out-of-towners as well as locals. Liska says, "Women still like to come in, be waited on, touch and feel the clothes on the racks, try things on, and have someone tell them they look great. You can't get that with online shopping." Each purchase is beautifully wrapped so when you get home, the experience continues in unwrapping it. Bring in a piece you need coordinated and Liska's staff will gladly help…and if they don't have what you need, they will point you in the right direction. "I don't have everything for everybody, but we want you to leave happy," says Liska. Formerly occupied by the Turman Larison Art Gallery, Cobblestone Clothing Co. is back at home on Helena's Last Chance Gulch. Cobblestone carries clothing lines such as Johnny Was, Tribal, and Eileen Fischer to name just a few.
