indicative to the opportunity for the cre-
ation of a commercial Thoroughbred in-
dustry right here in Ordos, Inner Mongolia,"
said Teo. "Opportunities like this are very
special and have national implications."
Horse racing is done a little bit differ-
ently anywhere you go—for instance Chi-
na notably does not currently allow bet-
ting—but the heart of the competition, the
thrills of victory, and the enjoyment of the
sport are remarkably similar. That is true
from Epsom to Ordos, a place that contin-
ues to come into its own.
