THE SAVANNAH WAY
The Savannah Way links Cairns in tropical
north Queensland and the historical pearling
town of Broome. The drive crosses the Northern
Territory and passes through five World
Heritage listed areas, offering some of the
most spectacular sights in northern Australia.
You will travel through amazingly diverse
and remarkable landscapes of wide horizons,
ancient gorges, rock pools and hot springs,
including the magnificent Lake Argyle near
Kununurra and the white sandy beaches of
Broome.
While some of the route is four-wheel drive only,
there are large sections that can be driven in a
family sedan. It's an easy to follow route that
includes clear signage, interpretative displays,
maps and brochures.
