Since Kevin Robinson became head
coach in 2006, the Memphis track and
field team has produced three NCAA
runner-up performers. To Robinson���s
credit ��� whose prowess as a throwing
coach is internationally-known ��� all
three runner-up performers were
throwers. Steffen Nerdal twice was
runner-up in the indoor weight throw
in 2009 and 2010. Susan King was the
other athlete who earned a runner-up
finish at the NCAA Championships
when she finished second in the shot
put in 2008.
