A long-time fixture in the Memphis and
Mid-South track and field community,
Nic Fortenberry was a member of Kevin
Robinson���s inaugural staff and has overseen
an impressive array of hurdlers and
sprinters since 2006.
For almost a decade, Fortenberry was a
coach in the Memphis area, first at Kirby
High School (1997-2000) and then at
Houston High (2000-05) before joining
Robinson���s staff. At Memphis, he has
coached 17 NCAA Regional qualifiers
and four NCAA qualifiers. Fortenberry,
a former walk-on at LSU, has become a
master motivator of his pupils, crafting
a squad that can be the catalyst for the
program for years to come.
